Mariann Östansjö has joined the Green Cargo Group as CFO. She has broad experience from companies that are active in an open market.
“It feels very good to already be able to introduce our new CFO,” says Green Cargo’s new CEO, Mikael Stöhr, who now has the most important piece to the puzzle in place for Group Management.

Together with Green Cargo the retail giant COOP has moved a large amount of goods from road to rail. Coop is the first food retailer in Sweden to transfer such a large quantity of truck shipments onto trains.

Green Cargo has many customers with freight between Scandinavia and continental Europe, but we are confident that we can play a larger role here in the future.

Green Cargo can now declare a profit for the third quarter due to a slight increase in volumes, the effects of ongoing efficiency enhancement programs and successful new sales efforts. The income after financial items totaled 6,4 (4) million EUR for the quarter. The accumulated income after financial items is -21,9 (11,5) million EUR.

Mikael Stöhr, currently President and CEO of AxIndustries, is to take over as CEO of Green Cargo. Mikael Stöhr has a broad experience of industry and trade in Sweden and internationally.

“I see Green Cargo as a company with huge potential. I’m joining the company in a very exciting phase, during which significant efforts to improve efficiency are being carried out, whilst maintaining a high level of quality. We will introduce new opportunities for cost-effective and environmentally-adapted transport solutions for industry and trade, both in and outside Sweden,” says Mikael Stöhr.

Green Cargo Group's profit for the first quarter of the year reflects the development of the Swedish market. Transport volumes and earnings dipped sharply and a program to reach annual savings of SEK 300 million was initiated.

Green Cargos Board of Directors has appointed Lennart Pihl as interim CEO. The process of recruiting a candidate for a permanent assignment is ongoing.  Lennart Pihl is 59 years old and has a long and thorough experience of developing and rationalising companies.

The Board of Green Cargo and Sören Belin are in agreement that a new CEO profile is needed for Green Cargo, in order to meet the tough economic environment in which the company finds itself.
