Mikael Stöhr, currently President and CEO of AxIndustries, is to take over as CEO of Green Cargo. Mikael Stöhr has a broad experience of industry and trade in Sweden and internationally.
“I see Green Cargo as a company with huge potential. I’m joining the company in a very exciting phase, during which significant efforts to improve efficiency are being carried out, whilst maintaining a high level of quality. We will introduce new opportunities for cost-effective and environmentally-adapted transport solutions for industry and trade, both in and outside Sweden,” says Mikael Stöhr.
Born in 1970, Mikael Stöhr has been President and CEO of AxIndustries since 2005, during a period when the company increased its turnover from SEK 380 million to SEK 1.6 billion at the same time that profit increased more than twentyfold. AxIndustries, with almost 500 employees in seven countries in the Nordic region and the Baltic states, specializes in Bearings & Transmissions and Heavy Duty Vehicle Components. AxIndustries consists of a number of separate operating companies and is a part of Axel Johnson International. Mikael Stöhr was on the management team at Axel Johnson International AB from 2003 up until he was named President and CEO of AxIndustries.
Prior to this, Mikael Stöhr was manager of the Swedish Trade Council in Russia during an expansive period. He has also gained experience as a consultant for McKinsey and a lawyer for the law firm Mannheimer Swartling.
“Green Cargo has already shown that it can go from a period of loss to one of profit, while at the same time developing the level of quality. Now the company is successfully confronting the huge drop in volume experienced by the primary industries as a result of the recession and is able to develop new transport solutions as well as do new business. We will grow with our customers once the economic situation turns,” says Mikael Stöhr.
Green Cargo’s Chairman of the Board, Håkan Buskhe, explains that, as CEO of Green Cargo, Mikael Stöhr perfectly fits the criteria that the Board of Directors set out prior to recruiting a new CEO.
“We were looking for an individual that could make things happen while, at the same time, be a market-oriented leader. I believe we have found that in Mikael Stöhr. Together with the company’s competent employees, Mikael Stöhr will be able to develop Green Cargo into the industry’s natural choice,” says Håkan Buskhe.
Mikael Stöhr will take up his position as CEO of Green Cargo by 19 April at the latest. Up until then, Lennart Pihl will continue to act as Interim CEO.
