From November 2 Norway is also included in our extensive intermodal network of environmentally friendly transportation of standardized containers.
Norway and the Oslo area are a very important area for the port of Gothenburg. This initiated a collaboration between Green Cargo, the Port of Gothenburg and H.Strøm / Rail Terminal which resulted in a new intermodal shuttle. We depart 5 days a week and offer short lead times for large container volumes. We, in other words, make it easy for you to increase the effectiveness of your shipments from the Port of Gothenburg to Norway. Departures are from both Skandiahamnen and Älvsborgshamnen.
The transports take about six and a half hours and are night transfers. With H.Strøm / Rail Terminal we reach many destinations in Norway, both by rail and truck. We also operate customs handling for border crossing and customs into Norway. A solution which is more environmentally sustainable yet effective economically with competitive lead-times is hard to find.
