Green Cargo’s environmental profile is a competitive factor – inside and outside the company. The Environment target area demonstrates how environmental awareness permeates our operations in all organisational areas and all tasks.
The climate issue continues to be of great interest; some people claim it is humanity’s greatest challenge. Our environmental management system, customers, owners and other stakeholders help set Green Cargo’s environmental priorities. Despite our already good environmental performance, we systematically work to continually lower our environmental impact. Our extremely low-emission transports, along with clear goals and activities, give us a better environmental profile than the logistics and transport sector as a whole. Consequently, our customers improve their environmental performance by choosing us as a logistics partner.
Priorities for 2010
During 2010, we will continue to focus on decreasing our fossil fuel consumption. We will continue to train our truck drivers in Ecodriving and the drivers of our diesel locomotives will participate in a unique training program developed in cooperation with the National Association of Swedish Driving Schools. We intend to move the training course online, making it easily accessible for all employees. We will also work to introduce more biofuel into our diesel vehicles than we have used previously
