Transport using HVO100

Would you like to reduce the climate impact of your transports without compromising delivery reliability or flexibility? Then HVO100 could be the right solution for you. We now offer HVO100 as fuel for shunting and diesel-powered rail haulage within Sweden.
Sustainable – without compromising on performance
Electric locomotives are the foundation of our operations. In 2024, nearly 98 per cent of our total transport work is powered by electricity, resulting in a very low climate impact. For the remaining portion – where diesel locomotives are used, such as in shunting operations at terminals or on non-electrified lines – we now offer HVO100 as an alternative. Replacing fossil diesel with HVO100 can reduce emissions of carbon dioxide equivalents (CO₂e) by as much as 93 per cent.
A practical solution through mass balance
To offer HVO100 in an efficient and flexible way, we use a mass balance approach. This means Green Cargo refuels the equivalent volume of HVO100 into the system needed to perform your transport work. Just like green electricity, you cannot trace every individual litre, but the total climate benefit is achieved. This is the most widely accepted model on the market today.
Transparent reporting
Upon request, you will receive clear documentation for the volume of HVO100 you have ordered. We allocate the correct amount to your specific transport agreement and verify this annually as part of our sustainability reporting.

Reduce emissions by up to 93 percent
HVO100 is a renewable synthetic diesel produced from animal and vegetable waste products. It contains neither PFAD (Palm Fatty Acid Distillate) nor crude palm oil (CPO), making it a sustainable choice for companies with high climate ambitions.
