Update 3: Ongoing Swedish Dockworkers Union strike in Swedish ports

The Swedish Dockworkers Union (Svenska Hamnarbetarförbundet) has announced a continued strike that may affect Green Cargo’s rail transports to and from Swedish ports.

The union has issued a notice of continued strike action in all Swedish ports. In addition, targeted strikes at certain terminals have been announced and will continue until 9 June. Different ports will be affected on different dates.

Mediators from the Swedish National Mediation Office have presented a proposal for an agreement between Ports of Sweden (Sveriges Hamnar) and the Dockworkers Union, known as a "hemställan." Ports of Sweden accepted the proposal, but the Dockworkers Union declined, meaning the conflict in the ports remains unresolved.

Impact on our transports

Based on the information currently available, we assess that the ongoing strike is likely to have a significant impact on our operations, including train cancellations and reduced transport capacity. Our Customer Service team is in direct contact with affected customers and ports.

We are planning our transports with a two-day forward horizon to remain agile and proactive, and to ensure a quick return to normal operations if the strike is called off.

We are closely monitoring the situation in cooperation with the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (Svenskt Näringsliv) and will continue to provide updates through our established communication channels.

Green Cargo will invoke Force Majeure for all transport services already affected, as well as for those that may be disrupted as a result of the strike.
