Shipping Ban Due to Severe Flooding in Northern Sweden
As previously communicated, traffic has been halted on parts of the main railway line through Upper Norrland and the Botniabanan. The cause is two derailments and extensive flooding following heavy rainfall over the weekend, which has washed away roads and railway embankments. This has had a major impact on both road and rail traffic, rendering certain roads impassable.
Due to this, Green Cargo has been forced to impose a shipping ban starting Tuesday, September 9.
The latest forecast from the Swedish Transport Administration indicates that reopening is expected no earlier than Monday, September 15 at 15:00 for all three disruptions in Norrland.
Customers operating under specific transport plans will be served according to those plans.
