Update: SMHI Extends Weather Warning – Continued Impact on Traffic

SMHI has extended the weather warning. The warning applies from 15:00 on January 1 until 18:00 on January 2 and concerns the risk of heavy snowfall combined with strong winds.

The following routes are closed from 07:00 on January 1 until 18:00 on January 2:

• Ånge – Sundsvall
• Sundsvall – Umeå

The following routes are closed from 07:00 on January 1 until 18:00 on January 2:

• Sundsvall – Gävle
• Gävle – Borlänge

Update:
Gävle rail yard has been hit by heavy snowfall, and combined with strong winds, snow removal is being hampered. Therefore, Gävle rail yard will largely remain closed until Sunday.

Please note that reduced traffic may occur on the Gävle – Borlänge route after the specified time.
There is a risk that the forecast and closures will be extended depending on how the weather situation develops. A disruption plan is activated and information is continuously updated.
