Upcoming Strike within DB Cargo AG's network

The German Locomotive Drivers' Union (GDL) has once again called for a strike in the freight transport sector, scheduled to take place from 6:00 PM on January 9, 2024, to 6:00 PM on January 12, 2024. Deutsche Bahn AG is taking legal action to stop the GDL strike. Despite all the measures taken in advance, the announced strike may lead to significant restrictions in DB Cargo AG's network.

Green Cargo is closely monitoring the ongoing situation and is in close contact with DB Cargo AG, who will keep us informed of specific effects on rail transportation. DB Cargo AG is actively working to minimize any consequences of the GDL strike and will continue to update Green Cargo.

As a result of this, Green Cargo has been forced to impose a transport ban for export volumes via Malmö. The export ban does not affect our direct routes Austria Direct and Italy Direct.

Green Cargo invokes Force Majeure for all traffic affected by the strike that the German unions have announced, starting at 6:00 PM on January 9, 2024.
