Upcoming Strike within DB Cargo AG's Network

We want to inform you about the anticipated impact of the upcoming strike within DB Cargo AG's network.

The German Locomotive Drivers' Union (GDL) has called for a 35 – hour strike in the freight transport sector, scheduled to take place from 6:00 PM on March 6, 2024, to 5:00 AM on March 8, 2024. Despite all the measures taken in advance, the announced strike may lead to significant restrictions in DB Cargo AG's network.

Green Cargo is closely monitoring the ongoing situation and is in close contact with DB Cargo AG, who will keep us informed of specific effects on rail transportation. DB Cargo AG is actively working to minimize any consequences of the GDL strike and will continue to update Green Cargo.

As a result of this, Green Cargo has been forced to impose a shipping ban for export volumes via Malmö. Green Cargo invokes Force Majeure for all traffic affected by the strike that the German unions have announced, starting at 6:00 PM on March 6, 2024.
